Bill Shafer - President's Award 2001, 1999

A native of Illinois, Bill Shafer received his Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree from the University of Illinois and his MEng in Structural Engineering from the University of Washington. After a 3-year stint with the US Navy Civil Engineering Corps in the Far East, Bill joined KCM in 1975. His work at KCM has included commercial buildings, waterfront structures, prestressed storage tanks, aquariums, and public facilities including the Mount St. Helens Coldwater/Johnson Recreational Complex.

Bill joined SEAW in 1976, and served on the Board of Directors of SEAW Seattle 1998-2000 and on the Professional Practices Committee.
