Pavel Fuchs - Life Member 1996

A native of Czechoslovakia, Pavel Fuchs earned his Engineering Diploma at the Czech Technical University in Prague before undertaking studies at the University of Washington, where he assisted Professor Billy Hartz with dynamic studies of the Hood Canal Floating Bridge in the late 1960's.

He worked with Harry Powell & Associates and Bruce Olsen Consulting Engineers before joining John Graham Associates in 1972. Among his projects with the Graham firm: 1111 Third Avenue Building and Sixth & Pike Building in Seattle, Naval Regional Medical in Bremerton, and Madigan Army Medical Center at Fort Lewis. He also worked on high-rise buildings in Boise, Anchorage, and Houston as well as several government buildings in Richland, Washington and Juneau, Alaska.

A long-time SEAW member, he served on the Board 1986-88 before his election to Vice President. He represented the Board on the Legislative and Seminar Committees, and chaired the Long Range Planning Committee.
