A Senior Project Manager with DCI Engineers, Bellevue, and a member of SEAW for over 30 years, Scott Douglas helped plan the highly successful 2007 NW Conference of Structural Engineers in Seattle, drawing record-breaking attendance. His service on the Wind Engineering Committee, the Wood Task Force, and the Legislative Committee advanced the profession's knowledge base and civic presence. With the ACE Mentor program as well with SEAW's Younger Member Forum, he has reached out to young citizens to elevate their aspirations.

A highly visible member of the engineering community, Scott has worked on many significant projects in his career. Through his project experience and technical work, Scott has developed special expertise in structural engineering design, especially in the areas of wood and cold-formed steel design. Scott nurtures the engineers who work with him to support their professional development and to appreciate the complexities of engineering design and code compliance.

In 2010, Scott took part in a delegation of architects and engineers performing ATC-20 building evaluations in post-earthquake Haiti. In 2012-13 he spent 33 months working in Afghanistan with the US Army Corps of Engineers.

The 2014 President's Award recognized Scott's reenergizing of the Wind Engineering Committee.

In November 2015, Scott took part in an on-site survey of damage from the April 2015 Nepal earthquake at Kathmandu.
