Tom Bykonen - President's Award 2010

Tom Bykonen grew up in the Northwest, and received the BSCE from the UW in 1980. After two years working with the Structural Design group of the Corps of Engineers, he returned to UW for studies leading to the MSCE in 1986. He started his career in the private sector with Ratti Swenson Perbix, Seattle, followed by a short period with Skilling Ward Magnusson Barkshire. He founded Perbix Bykonen in 1999. He served on ASCE's Seismic Renovation of Existing Buildings Committee, on the Seattle Design Commission, and as a member and Chair of the City of Edmonds Architectural Design Board.
